He would then spend his time observing the wildlife, the birds and the squirrels, the forest cats and the wandering bears all from high above the branches from his bedroom window. He would make sketches of the animals in his notebook, write down observations, speculate as to where they had come from, where they were going. From his tower, he could see quite a bit of this part of the forest, and the telescope he used to observe the stars at night was also quite useful in observing the life below him. ...
